I would like to start with defining the struggles I had during this course so far.
Something that really helped me to define my own flaws was the lecture ’thinking and reasoning’. By writing a blog, I was encouraged to reflect my own thinking process. I have never done something like that, so it was completely new for me. However, it was very usefull to reflect my behavior and thinking process in this way.
During the first lecture ’Thinking and reasoning’ the teacher asked us a few questions. One of these questions was ”Why do you think the sky is blue?”, ”and how do you know that it’s true?”. We were asked to come up with a few things of which we were convinced they were correct. In addition, we were asked to explain why we assumed them to be correct. It was actually very difficult, because I don’t really know why I believe certain things. Certain things I just assume to be correct, because everyone has these same assumptions
English
One of my struggles is expressing myself in English. On my highschool diploma I scored 7 out of 10, so I assumed my English skills to be alright. And in a certain way it is, I do understand all the lectures. The only problem is the writing, I find it hard to write a correct English text
I found out about it, after I compared my writing skills with other classmates. Of course there are some native English speakers in my class. And their English writing skills are way better than mine. But also other Dutch students can express themselves in English way better than I can. That is really something that bothers me. I would like to improve my English, because my time at IBIS would be a lot easier that way. Language can be a big obstacle in your educational course.
Creating a Business Model Canvas of a company gives the ability to gain a much better overview of the company. That makes the next step,'Determining the flaws of a company' much easier. This step is focused on determining improvement points. Especially determining which specific part of the company needs improvement.
