Gaming

I’ve been playing videogame since I was young, through these years I’ve noticed videogames evolved in the most realistic looking graphics, every year I thought: It doesn’t get much better than this. And every year I was surprised by how much better new releases looked. In 2006 I was stunned by the graphics of battlefield 2 in 2010 Battlefield: Bad Company 2 came out. In 2011 battlefield3 came out. Just one year difference between Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Battlefield3. A graphics comparison:

I primarily play games for entertainment, but as you can read on the homepage, games where the trigger in me being interested in IT. It was magical to me how some files assembled made a game so realistic that It was like watching a war documentary. Now I have minor understanding how games are created and in my IT future I’d like to make, or contribute to a game like Battlefield or Call of Duty.

Social aspects

Although some may disagree, gaming to me is a great way to socialize. In fact, gaming originated from social activities e.g. boardgames, soccer, baseball etc.

I’ve always played games with friends on a console or multiplayer on pc, simultaneously talking via skype. In my opinion this is what makes gaming fun, you socialize, collaborate, discuss, and accomplish things together.

LAN-parties

To me a LAN-pary the best way to play games, everyone brings his/her pc, xbox or laptop to one single room and play games. You have the Saturday night hangout, while playing games, pulling pranks etc. The awesome thing about this is you can feel the tension in the room, the euphoric atmosphere of a victory is much more present when you are physically together and can see the reactions of your friends.
