On the previous page it was mentioned that Christiaan van de Peut already lived in the town of Reasnor (IA) in 1917. Reasnor is located only 24 miles (40 km) from Pella. One can read an old article from a local newspaper, the Pella Chronicle dated February 9, 1939, which on page 5 lists some names below an article including wedding picture and description of the wedding guests (right page): ..., Betty van Zee, Mildred van Zee, Chris Vander Peut, Albert Vander Peut, Josephine Vander Peut of Pella; Merlin Roorda of Bussey; ...
Josephine vander Peut was born on May 30, 1916. Her mother Jenny passed away when Josephine is at age 4, probably shortly after the birth of Josephine"s brother Albert (see further below). Josephine married Merlin Roorda in 1938.

Sometime around 1978, Josephine vander Peut and Albert vander Peut came into contact with their Dutch relatives, the story appeared in a local Dutch newspaper, de Woudenberger dated October 18, 1978.
