About me
Hello there and welcome to my website! First, I would like to introduce myself. After that I will tell you something about my journey before coming to IBIS and lastly I will tell some interesting things that really makes me tick.
My name is Rojwien Hussein and I’m 21 years old. I am originally from Kurdistan, but I am living in the Netherlands (in Almere) for 15 years now. There are a lot of things that I am interested in and I love to explore new places and things. Some of the things I do in my free time are reading, working-out, cooking, hanging out with my loved ones and watching movies. I have a weakness for good food, good books and good music.
After finishing Havo, I went to the University of Applied Sciences of Amsterdam to study International Business and Management Studies. The whole year I thought this is the perfect study for me and I really enjoyed it, however at the end I came to the conclusion that it was better if I did something else. After making the decision to quite, I felt like I had made the wrong decision and at the same time it felt also good. After letting everything soak in, I started to really think about the future. I had different plans that I wanted to execute, for example, taking a year or a half-year off to give me enough time to think about what I want and what I want to do. However, I did not proceed with these ideas and decided to just start with another study. I found out about IBIS after wanting to enroll for an international business study at InHolland. After reading the overview of the IBIS programme on the InHolland website, I immediately enrolled.
Now what makes me tick? There are actually not a lot of things that make me thick. First of all it depends on what the situation is, but I have four factors that really tick my mind and my perspective on life. The first one is when I have good (long) conversations with interesting and intelligent people. I love it when people can show me a different viewpoint on things on an intellectual level. This broadens my knowledge, which I always aim for. Secondly, I really like it when good plans are being made, but in a realistic way and with an effective strategy. Thirdly, when things are not going well in life and I need something that can uplift me so I can move on, I tend to think about something good that I have accomplished in life. When I think about that accomplishment and the progress and struggle that went along with it, I get the motivation to continue. Last but not least, people who are better, wiser and smarter than me can really trigger me. I get inspired by those people to do better in life and at the same time they give me ideas and knowledge.
