My Personal Progress

Before I registered myself to the course IBIS, I didn’t really were confident about my English speaking and writing skills. I asked people what they thought about it and they were all like that I needed to deepen myself in English before I would enter, so I did. During the English classes I was quiet not because I didn’t know but unfortunately I was just scared of making a fool of myself with my English speaking skills. But later on in time during classes I learned the grammar and vocabulary and so I have improved my English speaking and writing skills. I also had conversations with my students in English and I was improving it every time. But it still isn’t perfect and I have a lot to do before I am at the level where I need to be for IBIS. The first term of this year I do really think the English lessons helped me and I am glad with the upgrades of my speaking and writing skills. For the second term I need to work harder on my English skills and have more conversations with my fellow students and watch more documentaries on TV or on the internet, without Dutch subtitles of course.

Other English Activities

For my other English activities I watched a lot of documentaries and TV shows like on Discovery Channel and National Geographic. What I learned from the documentaries are the way of talking and the uses of words that I, back in time, didn’t know how to pronounce or use in a sentence. But later in time I just got used to it and practiced every day. I chose a couple of shows for examples: • Mythbusters • Dual Survival • Naked Afraid
