The Velocity-Contraction-Dilation Fiasco in SR

Nominally, the velocity v is taken by SR-cultists as being a constant
although in fact what is a positive velocity in one system is a
negative velocity in the other.

This explains why True Believers don't actually apply the
transformation equations to the supposed moving values to see if they
restore the stationary system values. 

Instead, the solve the transformation equations for the dependent
variables in terms of the independent variables to reverse engineer
the values.

But that is not the immediate topic in this post.
