Simultaneous is simply two events occuring in the same time. What is time? Time, like in any scaleable measure, is measured from absolute zero time? When is absolute zero time? At the beginning of the universe, which currently is postulated as the Big Bang. There it is, nice and easy. Now let us make it a bit more complicated. A supernova 12 light years away from earth explodes and is seen on earth right on the new doomsday date of 12/21/2012? Did the event occur on 12/21/2012? According to relativists, yes. According to me, no. The event occurred on 12 years ago, and is easily extrapolated to the past by knowing its distance and the speed of light. There it is, still nice and easy. |
