But in fact, the Cosmic Background radiation is already providing us with an absolute reference, but I consider that as cheating. The Galilean transformations were also based on "sitting below deck in a ship and not being able to look outside". Rotations cannot be hidden from a person below deck. Did you receive mu e-mail ?
