You get the following result: 1. All orientations of the arms in the plane of the arms give null result. 2. The only conclusion you can make is that the apparatus is not moving in any direction in the plane of the arms. 3. If the apparatus is moving then it must be moving perpendicular to the plane of the arms. The null result of the experiments support this claim. 4. Notice that the perpendicular direction is always perpendicular to the plane of the arms no matter how the apparatus is moving or rotating. Ken Seto |
