Bio:

My name is Yuan Liem, I was born and raised in Amsterdam and study International Business Innovation Studies at the InHolland University of Applied Sciences. In my spare time I produce electronic music mainly the genres of House and Techno.

From an early age my mom noticed I had a creative mind, I would spend most of my days either drawing or remaking attributes from popular TV-shows with arts and crafts. My dad used to work as an account manager for a printing company and brought home all different types and sizes of paper for me to unleash my imagination upon.

As I grew older I started to apply my creativity to different things, I would write short stories and scripts and when I was 12 I had finally saved up enough money to buy a guitar. I started to teach myself how to play until I lost interest in the instrument. I was bored with the acoustics of the instrument and my musical ventures got put on the back burner until I discovered electronic dance music.

I was captivated by the sound design and diversity of genres all created by similar synthesizers and software applications. Slowly but surely I started to emerge myself in the vastness of digital music creation, a passion which still holds me firmly in its grip.

I now live on my own in the west of Amsterdam and am in the process of acquiring hardware to build a small home studio, the final steps to releasing my music will be taking in the coming year.

International Business Innovation Studies

The IBIS program is a new course at the InHolland University of Applied Sciences with a unique philosophy. Unlike conventional business studies the IBIS program is designed to deal with the problems of doing business in the 21st century. IBIS-students are trained to see possibilities where others see problems, create opportunities where others see limitations and are molded into tomorrow’s business innovators.

The program is currently in its second year and consists of a one of a kind curriculum which has attracted international students from all over the globe, creating a buzzing multicultural learning environment. Students are allowed to construct their own program by selecting negotiated learning units(NLU’s) and thus able to explore personal interests.

The IBIS program is a demanding hands on course in which working together in a harmonious and effective way is one of the keys to success. Students tackle real world assignments by real world companies gaining valuable work experience, preparing them to storm the business world. This hands on approach along with the possibility to study abroad for a term has resulted in a huge spike in interest from both high school graduates and a vast amount of businesses wanting to get involved with the IBIS program to shape the future of our world.
