Luang Prabang

In order to get to Luang Prabang we took a slow boat that would takes us down the river from neighbouring Thailand into Laos. That boat trip took 2 days down the Mekong river. As we went we passed by all these tiny mountain villages, they use the boat as a transportation device to get to the cities. We stopped on the river side for the night and continued our journey the next day.

Luang Prabang itself was a nice city along the river, not much going on and at night the latest place where people came together was the bowling alley. But during the day you could drive a bike trough the beautiful city and visit the street markets.

Vang Vieng

It was a place where you come to get some culture or a lot of tourist palces to go. But the partying in Vang Vieng was the finest, such a small city where you rapidly know a lot of people. Also they had this thing going on called ‘tubbing’. Which basically meant you jumped in a rubber band and float down the river and along the river there are multiple bars. People standing in the water to push you in the right direction so you can hop off and grab a cold beer. Good fun!
