Tom, you are wrong.
If a(r) = 1/r^2, then the jerk is in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION. Think
about it.
Or, do the math.
d a(r)/dr = - 1/r^3
The snap is in the same direction as the acceleration, and the crackle
the same as the jerk. But what about the pop?
