the view from my balcony at room 53

Asking for a room with view at the sea isn’t very smart when they don't have that. So instead I got to look at Sunset Boulevard which actually wasn't so bad at all.

The room had everything I needed, 3 beds for me alone!! An AC, balcony with chairs and table, fresh towels and the room was cleaned every day by very friendly ladies.

Oh island in the sun....

The entrance to Toby’s from Sunset Boulevard. This is their parking place.

A local friend of mine thought this was a car dealers’ he never knew there was a hotel here. Working at the Holiday inn himself he loved this place with all its potential.

To the right and then left is the Hip Strip, or twice to the right is Dead End Beach.

The front desk, a very nice waiting area with very kind people who are always willing to lend a helping hand.

There is a stand with flyers which shows what’s happening in Mo’bay.

And in the corner on the left there is always a taxi chauffeur waiting to bring you everywhere safe and sound.

Always in for a special deal

for a special  trip.

Soldier and Paul are very friendly, funny and considerate chauffeurs (guides) with great ideas.

Walking away from the front desk, turning right. You pass by these nicely painted buildings.

A likkle bit further is the pool, which is surrounded by the rooms of the hotel.

On the mountain in the back there is a  Red Strip  sign...

At the back of this  block there is a nice big Ackee tree with ripe fresh fruit. There are also lemons which they pick for the restaurant to use.

My room was just under the

Red Stripe sign, not on the pool side but on the other side upstairs.

The restaurant had a bar, a pool table and even a swimming pool. The service was friendly, the food was great! At breakfast i met a nice woman from Christchurch New Zealand who was here for the teacher conference. Like so many others (singles) in the hotel, sometimes we shared our experiences of the day and gave each other advises. We also exchanged our cultures and had lots of fun.

The hotel restaurant ... Around the other pool...

With these two palm trees i fell in love when i was still at home and saw pictures of the hotel… i needed to hug them for a picture!!

Everywhere beautiful flowers!

At the pool bar you are welcomed by Carmen's sweet smile, she is a great host and cocktail mixer!!! Before you know it you really feel at home. On top of that you can even order room service at the pool for some food! (wink)

These men came to sing along the pool side and then later on at the restaurant. They do that twice a week but when they heard it was my last day they gave me a serenade which i appreciated a lot.

During my farewell pool party security didn't fuss about closing the pool in time. With my new friends, some Pepsi, Appleton and pizza... while one of the guys was singing like Gyptian... The Vibez were alright n Irie!!!!!

Ackee, the national dish, grows on a tree in the garden!

Ackee and salt fish for breakfast ..

There were lots of birds to see, really small ones,

Hummingbirds and

The Doctor Bird!
