This is the technology museum "NEMO". The building was designed by Renzo Piano.
It sits on top of the southern entrance of the IJ-tunnel from the citycenter to the Amsterdam-North
suburb. The building is covered by copperplates, giving it its distinct color, and poisoning the IJ-water.
Some copper parts where badly attacked by acid rain and had to be changed for new ones; hence the
differences in color.
