Naast de SBB Cargo en de bouw ondernemer Sersa heeft ook de BLS de MAK G 1700 BB diesellocomotief Am 843 besteld.

Deze machines, waar de BLS er 3 stuks van heeft besteld, zullen ingezet worden voor werktreinen in de tunnel maar kunnen ook elders

ingezet worden. Deze Am 843 zijn voorzien van het nieuwe ETCS - II beveiliging systeem.

De foto toont de eerste geleverde BLS Am 843 501 bij doorkomst te Blausee-Mitholz onderweg naar Brig op 18 juli 2006.

Not only SBB Cargo and the Sersa concern, but also BLS has ordered the MAK G 1700 BB diesel loco Am 843. These machines - BLS ordered

three - will be used for maintenance trains in the tunnel, but also on various places. The Am 843 has been equiped with ETCS level II train control

system.
