Met oog op de nieuwe BLS Basistunnel beschikt de BLS sinds 29 september 2004 over een nieuwe Lösch- und Rettungszug (LRZ).
Het een vierdelige eenheid welke bestaat uit twee zelf rijdende delen ontworpen door Windhoff.
De BLS Lösch- und Rettungszug luisterend naar de registratiecode XTmas 80 63 98 06 080-6 heeft standplaats Depot Spiez.
Op 24 oktober 2004 is dit materieel tevens  gedoopt met de gemeente naam "Spiez".
De foto toont de LRZ tijdens een conditierit op de terugweg van Kandersteg naar Spiez bij doorkomst te Kandergrund op 24 juli 2006.
   
Looking forward to the new BLS base tunnel, BLS owns a new rescue train since 29 september 2004. It a is a unit which consists of four parts; two of 
them are able to propel itself. The train has been designed by Windhoff. The BLS rescue train has got registration code XTmas 80 63 89 06 080-6 its 
home place is Spiez. On 24 October 2004 this stock has been baptized after community name “Spiez”. The photo shows the rescue train 
(so called Lösch- und Rettungszug, LRZ) during a condition test trip from Kandersteg to Spiez, when passing through Kandergrund on 24 July 2006.
