| De nieuwe BLS Vossloh BB1700 diesellok Am 843 502 te Frutigen. Deze locomotief staat hier niet zomaar. Sinds de opening van de Lötschberg Basistunnel staat permanent een diesellok en een elektrische locomotief gestationeerd aan beide zijden van de tunnel te weten Frutigen en Brig. Zolang het tijdens de opstart periode tot december nodig is zal de stationering duren. In geval van calamiteit dat een trein in de tunnel door wat voor oorzaak dan ook blijft steken zal deze diesellok in actie komen om de trein weg te slepen en zo de tunnel weer vrij te maken. De diesellok staat voor het nieuwe gezamelijke onderkomen van de BLS Lös und Rettungzug en de Feuerwehr Frutigen waar voorheen de graansilo's gestaan hebben. Frutigen 23 juni 2007. |

This loco isn’t here just for nothing. When the L base tunnel is opened
a diesel loco and an electric loco are situated permanently at both sides
of the tunnel: Frutigen and Brig. As long as th starup period until 31th
of December this will continue. In case of an incident – where a trains
gets stuck for any reason – the diesel loco will take action to tow the
train out of the tunnel, and so make the tracks clear. The diesel loco is
seen in front of the common
facilities for BLS (Lösch & Rettungszug) and Fire station,
where formerly the silo’s could be found. |
