Thinking about the future is frustraing and a little bit scary for me at the moment, as I still have relatively little idea, what career opportunities lay ahead of me. This is not only because we are the second year starting the program and there have been no graduates yet, but also due to the fact that this program is pretty much unique in the world. I would like to have a clearer view on potential jobs and possibilities for specialization. I have a much better understanding of the business world and influental factors already after the first term, but only fundamentals of business has provided me so far with a really detailed outlook on the creative industry, as well as analysis of business decision-making and structuring or management.
What I am interested in is business strategy and innovation: As markets become crowded, companies have to look at other possibilities to differentiate themselves from the competition. I would like me to be a part of that in the future, maybe through some kind of business consulting or even my own company. I aim to incorporate kindness, respect, honesty and open-mindedness in whatever I do, in order to further grow as a person. The internships and the ibis quandary will help me to determine and narrow down areas of the course I am more interested in, and find companies, where I can get an idea about job applications of the theory and skills learned in class.
The keynote speakers we had visiting in the past such as innovation guru Paul Ensley or Gabriel McIntyre (CEO & founder “the game beyond”) re-instated the importance of passion to me to overcome obstacles. It is the ultimate movitication that keeps you going and helps to deal with any obstacles.
