Master thesis project - Boudewijn Possel - Finished in December 2009!

This website gives an overview of the results of my graduation research for the MSc Geomatics at Delft University of Technology. The work for this research was performed at the Mathematical Geodesy and Positioning (MGP) group at the faculty of Aerospace Engineering together with the section Applied Geology at the faculty of Civil Engineering and Earth Sciences (CiTG) in combination with Fugro-Inpark B.V.

The objective was to automatically derive a detailed map of buried channel deposits in the Alblasserwaard from high resolution laser altimetry data (FLI-MAP). The result of this project is an automated workflow that makes use of different filtering techniques and leads to a detection method. The results are validated using independent datasets.
