Who am I?

In America we are used to writing about ourselves, though it never becomes second nature. It’s so easy to sit and write down your hobbies, interests, and thoughts, but isn’t that just surface level? Every year we line up like cattle at a slaughterhouse and spill our guts on an assessment to tell us how competent we are. The core of a person is their personality and character but how can we show that on a piece of paper? When I look at myself in the mirror, I see strength, independence, and intelligence. I know that I am not afraid to speak my mind, but can often cower depending on the response I receive back. I know that I can handle hurdles beyond measure because I am perseverant and above all else, stronger then I realize. How do I know this? I guess it all comes down to experience. Time in time again, all of us are tested and often times surprise ourselves based on our success. In the light of impossibilities we can often create opportunities. I’d like to think that I am an optimist, believing in the good of others. I know the world isn’t perfect, but perfection is an ideal, not a real tangible thing. I believe that we all have the ability to be great, but it is those that apply themselves that succeed. Lastly I believe that I will succeed, because this is the reality I am creating for myself. Our perceptions are our reality.
