Dahlia's are the most noticeable autumn flowers in my garden.
However, I have to buy them every year because the snails and the mice eat them during the winter and early spring.

Dahlia "Chat Noir" is a gem, growing more than 1 meter high.
On my page with garden-pictures you will find an other lovely one called Dahlia Colorette

In autumn I usually allow the chickens to run around the garden. They will eat insects and small garden-pests and take out the weeds as well.
