Better off reading Dutch ? .... click here.

Here she is, for the time being our “final” travel destination … a new little travel-trek-girl.

Tessa, endstation of our travel life. Click here for some nice photo's.

“And now what?”

“Yeh, now what to do?”

Well, the arrival of our little travel-trek-girl means that for the time being (probably not for to long) we have to fight against our travel virus, at least fight the pressure of adventurous backpack traveling. We have met some of those “backpack families” during our travels, at the most remote places you can imagine. Very admirable but we don’t see how in the world backpacking with kids can be enjoyable for yourself as well as your kids at the same time. We don’t see ourselves with the little one catching rollercoaster busses for hours and hours, or sleeping in dirty rat holes just because there is nowhere else to sleep. Of course we’re open minded and if you have a completely different point of view, please try to convince us by sending us an email or writing in our guestbook.

“What to do with Travel-trek?”

It will be great if we can keep up the website in a vivid way by adding new travel stories about new places. That’s why we would like to add travel adventures from other travelers to the Travel-trek stories. Maybe you don’t have your own website and you would like to shoot your travel story into cyberspace, we can offer you a place. Even if you already have your own website with travel logs, you’re welcome to present one or more stories at Travel-trek to advertise your own site as an alternative for a simple link.

Do you have a nice travel story in words, photo’s or both and you like to publish it at the website of Travel-trek, sent us an email to erik@travel-trek.tk

Of course we won’t publish just anything. We have put our ideas of how to treat “guest writers” into some rules:

(1)   Concerning the content, the story has to be a travel adventure you have experienced yourself. It doesn’t matter which place on this planet your story is about, as long as it is an interesting story. A travel story can also be in pictures (see Andy's Pantanal story).

(2)   The story can be written in Dutch as well in English.

(3)   The story is yours and will stay yours only. You keep all the rights for your story, so we will never use your story for other purposes than for publishing at Travel-trek. Even if you decide your story has to be removed from Travel-trek, we will do so.

(4)   The looks of your story webpage will be similar to our own Travel-trek stories. Photos enrich the content of your story but aren’t necessary. We will take care of a map to show your route and the country your story takes place, of course at your instructions. We will keep color setting, letter type and all other format issues for all stories as similar as possible (saves us a lot of work). But a great background we can use is always welcome.

(5)   If you like we will add a link to your own website to your story.

(6)   We’ll always keep the right to reject stories or remove stories from Travel-trek.

(7)   We won’t be strict concerning style of writing. That’s pure personal. But a “than-and-than-and-than” story doesn’t read pleasantly and is not interesting for others to read. So, we will be critical.

(8)   And finaly some technical issues:

·   we like to receive the text in Word 2000 (or an earlier version) format

·   the pictures and photos we like to receive in jpg format, resolution 75 pixels, size 6x4 centimeter. A photo saved for web has a maximum file size of 20 to 30 kb.

(9)   To be cristal clear; we're not gonna host complete websites for you ... it's just for fun.

At this moment we are proud to present our first guestwriters: Judith en Ab. They asked us if we would like to publish their travel stories at Travel-trek during their travels so famliy, friends and any other person how can read Dutch can follow their adventures "live".

Of course we love to do that! Take a look at their webpages "Ups and downs the Ganges" to get an idea how your webpage can look.
