El Sham's has its own Awards! You can nominate someone else's cat-related site (or even your own site) by filling in a form or sending me an e-mail if your browser doesn't like forms. Sometimes I even go hunting after spectacular sites myself and hand out awards if they are good enough.
After receiving your nomination I will visit the site and check everything out. If the site is good enough to receive an award I'll let you (or the owner of the site) know what kind of award the site has won. Want to know what I look for on a site? Check the El Sham's likes and dislikes sections.
*Only after* the owner of the winning site has placed the award somewhere on his site and linked it to the El Sham site, I will place a link to the site on my Winners page.
On the Winners Pages (Bronze, Silver and Golden) you can see how I've rated your page. I give points for navigation, contents, graphics and style and I try to give tips on how to improve your site.
You need 0 - 30 points for a Bronze Paw Award
You need 31 - 35 points for a Silver Paw Award
You need 36 - 40 points for a Golden Paw Award
El Sham's Bronze Paw Award (maximum one winner each day)

your images and art are very nice
pictures are clean - perfectly scanned, well indexed or jpeg-ed
your site is put together in an orderly fashion

cattery sites can only win this award if there's much more info besides the standard cattery info (cats, shows, cattery, studs, queens, breedstandard etc.)

Extremely large images that take forever to load and don't have height and width tags.
Extremely large pages without indexes.
Disorderly sites.
Too much (redundant) pictures and art.
Links to non-existing pages.
Non-existing pictures.
Uninvited background music.
Psychedelic colour-combinations.
Illegible text (blue text on a red background for instance).
Scrolling text in status bar (doesn't let you read the links).
Scripts with faults.
Too much frames (and I even have a 20" screen)
Frames that don't add any functionality to a site
Boring, redundant sites.
Too much extra large, bold typing.
ALL CAPS!
Sites that try to make a point by being aggressive.
Sites that were *not* build for a 640x480 resolution. I don't mind 600x800 resolutions, but keep in mind that most people visit your site with a 640x480 resolution. And if you build your site for a 640x480 resolution, don't forget to test it on a 600x800 resolution.
What I hate the most, is finding my own graphics on other sites. I never give permission to use my graphics on other sites, but keep finding them all over the WWW. These sites will *never* receive my awards!
