Rosacea Gaura, January 11 1992 – July 4 1999

GauraGaura Rosacea became our first Leonberger. At that point only one thing counted, she should have a friendly character. After visiting the city Leonberg, half a year later, we really got caught by the Leonbergervirus. Since than we went to many shows with her. Although her results were not bad, VG’s were the max.The breeder of Gaura has always regretted that we were the only one showing a dog from her G-litter. There were dogs with more show potential in that litter. We have never regretted it because Gaura, also called “Bolle,” was a dog with a golden character; a big friend of children. She wasn’t the most beautiful one but for working only few are comparableNowadays you see Leonbergers who obtain obedience certificates. In the early days one told that it wasn’t possible to work with a Leonberger at an acceptable level. Gaura has done very well. She gained all she could get at our dog school in obedience and skills. We have also worked with her in tracking and in a project to cure children from their fear of dogs. In this project the treatment went progressively. First touching a dog of plush (some children had great fear doing this), than a puppy, a little adult dog and at last Gaura. All children were able to walk with
