In 1973 he began as a piano player and has learned the profession of jazz musician by playing in the clubs.

In 1980 he switched to the tenor saxophone and played with musicians such as King mock, Curtis Clark, Wilbur Little, Essiet Essiet, Don Munfort, Woody Shaw.

1983: LP with his own quartet: ERIC DID`S LICK
1988: Maxi Single with the band Karishma

About 1988 he has found the DOUBLE BASS to be HIS instrument and has grown into an all-round, cool, solid bass player. Played with great musicians like: Georgie Fame, Clarence Becton, Hans Dulfer, John Marshall, John Engels, Benjamin Herman,and many more!

Since 1997 he plays regularly with HANS DULFER.
Every Wednesday in Jazz Cafe Alto, Amsterdam with Boris Vanderlek (saxophone),
Albert Sarko (piano) and Ruben van Roon (drums) ,and in other clubs with various musicians such as Boris Vanderlek, Cyril Direktie (drums) , Egon Verhoeven (guitar), Ruben van Roon (drums), Walther de Graaff (guitar), Eveline Carels (drums) Jeroen van Iterson (keyboard) and special guests: Saskia Laroo, Michiel Borstlap, Candy Dulfer, Bennie Wallace ....
