Sunflowers and the War

Installation / Ostranenie / Bauhaus Dessau, 1993
(Konsumgebäude, Am Dreieck)

The mobile sunflower objects, painted in military colours are made of old record players. The permanently turning sunflowers refer to the repetition of the same old records. Sunflowers and the War refers to the eternity and change in political ideologies in a special new kind of historical-political context. The sunflower is a sign of the landscape in the regional homeland of the artist and also symbolizes a kind of "Van-Gogh-Schizophrenia" as war.
