“BARONG MACAN” (2005)

The “Barong Macan” is the one of the magical protectors of Balinese villages. Macan as a tiger, the lord of forest with the fantastic fanged mask and long mane, is also the opponent of Rangda(the female  goddess, Siva who rules over the spirit of darkness, or evil in the never ending fight between good and bad or Deva and Evil. During the Galungan and Kuningan festivals the Barong Macan wanders from door to door,cleansing the territory of Evil influences. And we believe  the barong is the
magical protector.
