| Very high performance spam blocker |
Today, the approach against spam is to use a spam filter at the email server level. Yahoo mail, Gmail, Lycos mail, Hotmail and many others are only some of the examples that use such email spam filtering approach. While at first this seems to be a good idea, the fact that your email is moved to the junk folder does not means anything. You still have to go and look in that folder to see if no good email was moved there by mistake. And they do make mistakes.
AntiSpam is the spam blocker tool that relieves you from the daily duty of inspecting the junk folder to see if any good mail has been moved there. Why? Because you are making the rules and you are knowing your email better than anybody.
- add your friends and family to friends list and instantly the mail from them will be protected in all your mail accounts no matter what email they send you
- add some words from your profession (or the name of the company you work for, etc) to the spam white filters, and the email containing those words will never be marked as spam
- if you receive a spam in one of your email address, add the sender to the spammers list and all future mails from that email address will be marked as spam in ANY of your other email addresses.
- add the bad words or phrases from the spam email you receive (like * gambling*, the spammer website, etc) to the spam black filters, and the mail containing those words will imediately be blocked as spam
- in black filters or white filters is possibile to match against multiple variations of the same word by using the operator '?'. Example: via?ra will detect all variations of this word: viagra, via@ra, viacra, etc
- different colors for different rules are easy to implement by using the directives 'color= ' (for foreground) and/or 'bgcolor= ' (for background) in spam white filters, spam black filters and dnsblhosts and so when a email containing that pattern is received, it will be shown in the listview with your chosen colour and/or background colour
- automatically check all hosts found in the email address header against a user list of DNSBL ("Real-time Blackhole List") providers, this measure alone will detect more than 80% - 90% of the spam!

| Unlimited number of email addresses |
AntiSpam filters and checks all your email addresses in one place. If you have hundreds of email address or if you have only one email address then everything is the same. Perfect scalability, perfect stability, perfect control. The accounts can be enabled or disabled individually at any time. Check and block spam only on the accounts you want and only at the time you want.

| Complete log of email deleted |
The Anti Spam software can delete spam email automatically or it can mark them as spam and then it can show them in the listview. If you choose in Options to have a log of deleted email (a good idea!), then any email deleted automatically or manually, from spammers, friends or anybody, will be added to msgdeletedlog.txt. In that log you will find the email header and also you will find the first 400 characters of the email body. This way it is a lot easier to tell what it was about in that email you deleted by mistake in a hurry. The file msgdeletedlog.txt will never grow over 2MB in size, instead the older deleted email will be erased from the log and they will make room for the newest ones.

| Notification options for new email received |
The AntiSpam rich set of notifications are availabile once you open the Options window. Ranging from the discreet tray icon blinking, to the more aggresive sound or main window popping up, you have everything here. AntiSpam will notify you only if you received new mail from friends or it will notify you if any new mail has arrived (including spam). It is your choice, a choice wich you may not have availabile with other mail software. If you choose to keep the old mail on the server, AntiSpam will know when new mail has arrived and it will not be fooled because of the old email presence in inbox.

| Secure manipulation of inbox email |
The AntiSpam program takes the email address operations very seriously. To enforce the correct behaviour for every mail operation AntiSpam uses UIDL extensively. No accidental delete or view for a different message than the intended one can occur. Even if mailbox content may had changed completely since the last receive, AntiSpam will detect this and will delete or access only the correct message (if it is still there, in the mailbox). A lot of other mail software clients and checkers will delete the wrong email at this phase, be very carefull about that!
This tricky mailbox situation (for other email programs) will occur when you follow this steps: - receive and view the headers in your usual mailchecker
- Outlook is started and maybe is minimised and it will start to receive emails and to remove them from the server in the background (if you have receive mail every xx minutes in Outlook options)
- some new (unseen) messages enter the inbox after the last receive from Outlook
- you decide to delete some messages from server using the mailbox checker
- the mailchecker will delete the wrong messages because it does not know about those mailbox changes
This type of wrong operation will never occur with AntiSpam! Even if you use a very old mail server without support for UIDL, AntiSpam will make no mistakes. It will compare the size and position of the messages, and only if they match it will make the final operation.

| Open architecture design (plugin filters programming) |
AntiSpam was designed from the ground up as an extremely high performance solution against spam. With the open architecture design, any external filter made by any independent programmer, and using any programming language, can be included to complement or even replace the functionality of the internal application set of filters. This external filter must be placed in AntiSpam's program directory and must be named userfilter.exe and then it must be activated from AntiSpam Options.

| Filtering order |
AntiSpam's model of aplying filters is the same as in any modern firewall: rules are analyzed and applied one by one (in order) until the first match occurs.
The filtering order is the one shown below: friends list - if the sender email or domain is here, mail is from a trusted person and it is ok whitelist filter - if the mail matches any of the filtering patterns from the whitefilter, then it is ok spammers list - if the sender is here, mail it is from spammers and it will be marked as spam blacklist filter - if the mail matches any of the filtering patterns from the blackfilter, it is spam DNSBL servers - automatically check all hosts found in the mail header against a user list of DNSBL ("Real-time Blackhole List") providers, only this measure alone will detect more than 80% - 90% of the spam!
There is no practical limit for the size of any of the above lists. They can be made as huge or tiny as it is needed for the final purpose: zero junk received and 100% safety for email from friends.
Because AntiSpam is made using Assembly Language, the spam blocker engine is the fastest in the world.
