Passion
Over the years I have been working as a bartender. By doing it for a long time this has become my passion and therefore have chosen to create a master plan about opening my own bar. In my spare time I still am working at a bar at the moment. Besides my education this is something I really enjoy doing in life. The thing I like the most about bartending is making cocktails. Over the years I have been studying all different kinds of cocktails and am still studying it when I have the time. In the future I want to innovate in making cocktails as well. That means coming up with ingredients and recipes myself.
Talent
On my opinion the biggest talent I have is my hard working mentality. When having a passion for something I always want to be good at it and be successful at it. Another talent I consist of is that I am able to learn fast. This in the future can be really of assistance to me and I will focus on that in the future as well to strengthen myself.
Business dream
My business dream is to open my own cocktail bar with the knowledge I am hoping to receive from my education and my passion I hope to be able to live my dream. Born and raised in Amsterdam I want to make this an all Amsterdam themed bar.
Definition of success
For me success is not so much about earning a lot of money. I want my customers to come to my bar and say ‘hey this was a lovely experience’. Off course getting as many customers as possible is being successful as well but what I see as success is getting positive feedback from customers and the feeling that they are satisfied when leaving.
Long term goals
In the long run I want to be a healthy company without any debts. If I manage to do this I would like to expand my company and maybe open a next business.
Short term goals
For the short term I want to have my company up and running. This can mean that I want to make my company known. This I can do with the right kind of marketing.
Actions
I have to actually come up with the money to start the company with. This can be either through a loan and/or investors. I have to come up with a perfect business plan to present to the people I want to get money from. In this business plan I will state all my ideas and expectations in order to make them aware what they can expect when investing in my company. These are things such as location, buildings, products etc.
Commitments
To be able to start up my own company I have to be committed. Because starting up a bar is my dream in the making I think I will have no problem with this. I will be committed 24/7. Also the commitment I have to face now is to finish my school and get my degree. This means that I have to spend a massive amount of time on my schoolwork and hand in a lot of spare time.
